2nd Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) Carbon Forum

The Forum is being hosted by the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) and organized by the World Bank Carbon Finance-Assist Program, in partnership with the French Agence Francaise de Development (AFD), the Fonds Français pour l'Environnement Mondial (FFEM), the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) and the World Bank's Global Gas Flaring Reduction (GGFR) unit. The first MENA Carbon Forum - held in Rabat, Morocco, in May 2007 - was highly successful in bringing together over 100 key stakeholders in the global carbon market. The Forum in Egypt builds on the success of the first event in Morocco, and aims to bring to this unique regional platform various stakeholders that are active in the carbon market: project owners and developers, CDM governance bodies, financial institutions, carbon market buyers and intermediaries, and service providers to discuss the latest carbon market developments and to create ample opportunities for networking and business development.

Water and Sanitation in EU External Aid: A European Commission Seminar at Expo Zaragoza 2008

All EU institutions will be bring together in a common pavilion at the EXPO ZARAGOZA 2008 under the title "Water and sustainable development". European Commission will be present in a smashing space devoted to Water and Development Cooperation. Besides, the EC services have been invited to prepare info days on their corresponding fields in relation with the title of this exhibition. On this occasion, EuropeAid is organising jointly with DG Development and DG Humanitarian Aid a conference-round table on "Water and Sanitation in EU External Aid".
