GeoMap is a geographic navigation tool that links some selected information stored in the databases of the Clearing House to their geographic location through the map of the Mediterranean.

Currently two main categories of information objects are shown on the map – as demonstrative examples:

  1. local best practice projects tackling pollution reduction (focusing on industrial emissions, municipal waste and urban waste water) implemented in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries. The projects have been identified in collaboration between the RMSU and the national Clearing House focal points and experts.
  2. waste water treatment plants of Italian coastal cities classified by type of treatment performed. This information is based on data produced by APAT in 2005 in the framework of the reporting obligations of the Council Directive 91/271/EEC of 21 May 1991 concerning urban waste-water treatment

You can filter the information displayed on the map by selecting some specific categories of information objects from the list in the right. After making the choice, click on “Show selected” to update the map according to the new settings.

You can pan and zoom the map to display the selected objects. By clicking the symbols on the map, the name of the object will display and more details will be provided by clicking “see more”.
